Federal waivers for free student meals were not extended to the 2022-2023 school year. This means that free meals for all students will be expiring with the completion of the summer meal program. Applications for free and reduced-price meals will be available in July during enrollment. Families that don’t fill out an application or do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals will be charged for each meal their child consumes at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.

Please take a look at your child’s lunch account and make sure that there isn’t a negative balance already for meals consumed before March 2020. If there is a negative balance, please pay that as soon as possible and plan to have money on their account before school begins in August. It is recommended that recurring payments be set up in e~Funds. Select the menu icon at www.derbyschools.com and then “make a payment (e~-Funds). Instructions are available if you have not set up an e~Funds account. Once logged in, click “low meal balance settings”.

We are still able to offer free meals this summer for all children and will be able to do so at three locations to best serve our community.
