At Derby Public Schools, we are proud to serve our military community with nearly 13% of the 6,940 students being military-connected. Military families who choose to live in base housing are assigned to our school district, with one of our nine elementary schools being connected to base housing. We understand the unique needs of your family and child and look forward to assisting you. Our school district works in close partnership with McConnell Air Force Base Leadership and the School Liaison Officer to address the needs of military-connected students in the district. This partnership has provided many opportunities for program and service development that eases that impact of students in transition and supports students who are facing difficult challenges unique to military families.
Purple Star District
Derby Public Schools is proud to be honored with the Kansas State Department of Education Purple Star Designation for our efforts and programs in place to support military families and students.
