Assessments for specific grade levels will take place between late March and late April. Individual schools will share specific schedules, and we appreciate your help in minimizing absences during this time. These state assessments are aligned with Kansas curriculum standards and play an important role in measuring student learning and guiding instructional decisions. Students in 3rd–8th grade will take assessments in English Language Arts and Math, while 5th and 8th graders will also complete Science assessments. In high school, 10th graders will be assessed in English Language Arts and Math, and 11th graders will take Science.
While our educators are continually preparing students, parental support at home is invaluable. You can help by ensuring students:
- Get a good night's sleep
- Have a nutritious breakfast
- Arrive to school on time
- Schedule appointments outside of school hours
- Receive encouragement and positive reinforcement
These assessments allow us to evaluate student progress, refine instructional strategies and prioritize areas of focus. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s education!
