Graphic with purple background and a dandelion. Text says Purple Up for Military kids

This year, we will celebrate Purple Up Day (wear purple) on April 9 to show support for our military-connected families. April is recognized as the "Month of the Military Child," a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families around the world, with a focus on the crucial role military children play in the armed forces community. Why Purple? Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported. Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red and Coast Guard blue combine as a single color, purple.
