We are pleased to announce that our Board of Education has prioritized and approved a new School Resource Officer (SRO) position to serve our three elementary schools located outside of Derby city limits. Sedgwick County Deputy Kailyn Eischen has been selected as the SRO for Cooper Elementary, Oaklawn Elementary and Wineteer Elementary. 

Deputy Eischen will join our existing SRO team, performing the same duties as our SROs from the Derby Police Department who currently serve the nine schools within Derby city limits. Derby Public Schools remains committed to enhancing safety and security for all students and staff. SROs provide a positive law enforcement presence that supports safety, security and the overall school experience.
