Board Appointed Committees

Committee Description: Committee meets about 3-4 times per year with representatives of the district's benefits consultant to discuss changes, etc. in health insurance and other benefits. Meetings are usually held after school and last about one hour. The committee also includes the Director of Finance and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Committee Description: The budget committee meets quarterly to address district finance issues and make recommendations to the full Board of Education.

Committee Description: Meets 4-5 times a year from March to July. Meetings last approximately an hour. The committee participates in discussion with classified staff relevant to the language in the Classified Employees' Policy. The committee consists of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the Director of Finance, the Director of Operations, and classified representatives.

Committee Description: This committee meets on an as needed basis to handle complaints concerning textbooks, media center or instructional materials.

Committee Description: Begins meeting around February and continues until the negotiation process is finished. Meetings are held during the day, evenings, and weekends. Committee consists of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, and DNEA representative.

Committee Description: The committee meets as needed. Recommendations for revisions or new policies are sent to committee members for review. Committee members review and provide feedback. Days and times are flexible. The superintendent facilitates this committee.

Committee Description: The purpose of this committee is to listen to all revisions recommended for student handbooks and to provide feedback on those recommendations. This is usually one meeting per year, sometime around the end of March/beginning of April.

Committee Description: A committee to help establish the district's five-year strategic plan. They establish the mission, beliefs, goals/strategies. This committee will review a yearly update of the Strategic Plan progress and reconvene as needed.

Committee Description: Committee deals with all issues related to the district's physical infrastructure and facilities, including grounds. The committee reviews requests for special use of facilities, modification of facilities, and construction of new facilities. The Director of Operations facilitates this committee.

Committee Description: The committee reviews district textbooks that are proposed from adoption following the curriculum review cycle. They make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and the Instructional Coordinators.

Committee Description: The wellness committee meets approximately once per month. There is one representative from each building also in attendance. The intent of this committee is to recommend policy changes or additions to the district wellness plan and to monitor buildings to ensure they are following through on their wellness plans they have chosen.
