2019-2020 Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment
Do you have a child that will be five years old on or before August 31, 2019? If so, we encourage you to attend Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment to gather more information about what is to come for your child this fall. Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment week at each elementary school will occur April 22-26 during the hours below.

Derby Public Schools Placed on 9th Annual AP District Honor Roll
Derby Public Schools is one of 447 school districts in the U.S. and Canada and one of five in Kansas being honored by the College Board with placement on the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll. To be included on the 8th Annual Honor Roll, Derby Public Schools had to, since 2015, increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.

Celebrating Derby, KS Writing Contest Results
Derby Public Schools and Derby Noon Lions Club have announced the results of the Celebrating Derby, KS Writing Contest. Congratulations to all of the participants and to the grade level winners who were recognized and received a medal at the April 22 Board of Education meeting. The Derby Noon Lions Club is also awarding a $1,000 scholarship to the winning senior.

FREE Summer Meal Program Starts June 3
Derby Public Schools is providing FREE meals to children and an accompanying adult during the summer. Meals will be served June 3-July 26, Monday-Friday (excluding July 4), 11:00AM-1:00PM at Derby Middle School.

Cooper and Oaklawn Elementary have been named 2018 Challenge Award winners! They will be recognized by Kansas State Board of Education members Jim McNiece and Kathy Busch on April 22, 2019 at each building. The award presentations will take place at 1:30PM at Cooper Elementary and 2:00PM at Oaklawn Elementary.
