Technology Incentive Program (TIP)

Derby Public Schools is proud to offer progressive opportunities to students in regards to technology. One-to-one devices are offered to all secondary students in the district. The 2017-2018 school year brought a big change in technology with middle school students switching from iPads to Chromebooks. Starting in August 2018, all secondary students will have Chromebooks issued to them. In addition to the device change, Derby Public Schools is happy to share that a Technology Incentive Program (TIP) is available to middle school and high school families. Students are automatically a part of TIP.

The Derby School District continues to lead the way on technology integration into the learning process for our students, parents and staff. The benefits of integrating technology seamlessly into the learning process are undeniable, but the cost can be a challenge in these times of budget cuts and competing spending priorities. The goals of this proposal are to reduce the total cost of our technology initiatives for students and to provide opportunities for better digital citizenship for our stakeholders.

TIP includes components and incentives for all stakeholders in our one-to-one student device policy, including parents/guardians, students and the district.
