Derby Public Schools is embracing innovation and partnership with the launch of its new Elementary Homeschool Discovery Classes for the 2026-2027 school year!

Homeschooled students seeking flexible and enriching learning experiences may enroll in select district elementary classes, including Physical Education, Music and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).

Supplemental online reading and math platforms are available to enrolled students, providing personalized learning paths and engaging activities that strengthen essential skills. Specific opportunities include:

  • Music and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music)
  • Physical Education (PE)
  • Library and a Craft with Friends

By opening its doors to homeschoolers, Derby Public Schools is extending a hand of partnership, ensuring that every child in our community has access to opportunities that foster growth, creativity, and friendship.

Cost is a one-time $75 enrollment fee for the entire year. More information, including how to enroll, will be available in July 2026. Days/times vary by grade level and schools with space available.
